![]() Order Booklet: Children in Kenya are no strangers to hardship, having to endure food shortages, poor health, severe poverty, and a lack of educational and medical services. The AIDS crisis has made their plight worse than ever. AIDS kills thousands of people every day in Africa, making orphans of 15% of the children, a large percentage of whom are infected with the virus at birth. Many of these children have nowhere to turn, and become homeless. Girls as young as 12 are often forced to marry much older men. With the help of concerned people like yourself, we will build a center to serve the children of Malindi, Kenya. The center will not only provide medical services and shelter for homeless children, but also strive to improve the outlook for future generations. We plan to do this by helping children and teenagers stay in school so they may become responsible adults, and by providing community educational programs on topics like birth control and AIDS prevention.

Malindi is a remote, impoverished area on Kenya's coast. It once had
a shipping industry, but today Mombasa to the south serves as the country's
commercial port.
